Irrigation Pond Depleted
After the original pump failed during startup a couple of weeks ago, a new pump was installed and the pond was able to refill. Since that time, water usage has at times exceeded the refill rate, which caused the pond level to drop. When water levels get too low, the pump automatically shuts off as a safety measure to prevent damage. The pond then needs time to refill before the system can be manually restarted by the irrigation crew.
A restart was completed on April 20th and the system is now operational.
As a general reminder, adjusting irrigation based on temperatures can help maintain adequate water levels for the entire community:
- 60–70° temperatures: typically only require watering once per day
- 80s–100° temperatures: typically require watering twice per day
- Run times do not need to be excessive, as soil can become saturated quickly. Signs of overwatering include standing puddles, water running off lawns, or flowing into streets, driveways, or sidewalks.
Homeowners can continue maintaining their lawns through hand watering or temporary sprinklers as needed.
